Nissan Prepares For Next Wave of Updates with Sedan Concept

Nissan, our preferred automaker, kicked off 2013 in a big way by announcing it was introducing five all-new models and refreshes. Now that we're in to 2014, the trend appears to be set to continue with the teasing of the Sport Sedan Concept, which reports state signals broadly to the next-generation Maxima that's in the works.

We can see very little of the prototype in the teaser, but it's clear that it will wear the new design styling we've been seeing lately on both concepts and updated models. The grille, in particular, harkens back to last year's Resonance Concept (a precursor to a new Murano), which has since been introduced to the Rogue.

There's also the presence of a flowing body crease that hugs the front wheel well arc and glides gracefully on back. According to Nissan, designing this prototype was an exercise in bringing a sports car dynamic to the sedan segment. To say the least, the design certainly evokes a fresh and energetic stance.

The Sport Sedan Concept will bow alongside the IDx Freeflow and IDx NISMO, which were both showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. While we have no word on an updated Maxima, our guess is we'll see it before the year is out.

That said, if there's a new Nissan model you'd like to drive this year, the folks here at our Fort Worth, TX location would love to have you down for a test drive. Swing on by our dealership, or contact us through live chat.
