Nissan is a Japanese automotive brand that has consistently served its customers since 1933. Year after year - If you're in the market to purchase a Nissan vehicle, then consider the New 2020 Nissan Maxima. Keep reading to find our all the new features for the 2020 model.

It Has 5 Trims Available
When it comes to cars, you want choices and with the 2020 Nissan Maxima, you've got them. This vehicle comes with 5 trims: S, SV, SL, SR, and Platinum.

S Trim
The most basic trim is the S trim. It has cloth upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, as well as automatic emergency braking, an 8.0-inch infotainment system (compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), voice recognition, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and 2 USB ports. In addition, you'll get to enjoy power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and proximity keyless entry. Safety features that come with this base trim include a rearview camera, automatic high beams, rear-cross traffic alert, blindspot monitoring, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, driver attention monitoring, and both forward and reverse automatic emergency braking.

SV Trim
If you don't like cloth upholstery, then you'll want to get the SV trim over the S trim. This comes with leather upholstery, as well as driver's seat power lumbar adjustments and heated front seats. This means you'll get to drive in total comfort. In addition, you'll get navigation, adaptive cruise control, heated outside mirrors, traffic sign recognition, and HD radio.

Starting with this trim, the 2020 version gets Safety Shield 360, which is a suite of active safety equipment. You'll get features like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, and forward-collision warnings with automatic emergency braking. The SL, SR, and Platinum trims get Safety Shield 360 as well.

SL Trim
The next highest trim is the SL trim. This option has everything the other 2 trims have, but also a 6-way power-adjustable passenger seat and a heated steering wheel. Other additional features are a universal garage door opener, 11-speaker Bose premium stereo, and 2 rear USB ports. You'll also get front and rear parking sensors for added safety.

SR Trim
The next trim is the SR trim and you get ventilated front seats and driver's seat memory settings with this option. Trim-specific features include Ascot leather and Alcantara upholstery, aluminum sport pedals, paddle shifters, and a sport-tuned suspension. The SR trim gets a surround-view parking camera as well as a panoramic sunroof. Previously, in the 2019 Nissan Maxima, these features were only available with the Platinum trim. The Nissan Maxima SR gets an added active lane control and traffic-sign recognition, which the 2019 version does not have. This is also available in the Platinum trim.

Platinum Trim
Last, but not least, is the Platinum trim. It has Ascot quilted leather upholstery and a power rear-window sunshade for great comfort. You'll also enjoy a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and the NissanConnect infotainment system. You have the option of adding the Reserve package. This has painted wheels, a charcoal headliner, heated rear seats, and special trim and upholstery.

The Same Engine
One thing that remains unchanged in the 2020 Nissan Maxima is the engine. Like the 2019 model, it has a 3.5L V-6 that's capable of 300 HP and 261 lb-ft of torque. You'll get continuously variable transmission (CVT), otherwise known as a shiftless transmission. You'll also get front-wheel drive; if you're looking for Nissan Maxima AWD (all-wheel drive), unfortunately, this isn't available. This is a powerful engine for a sedan. You'll have no trouble accelerating and gaining speed whenever you need to. The Nissan Maxima gets around 20 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway.

Decent Cargo Size and Interior Space
The 2020 Nissan Maxima has about 14.3 cubic feet of trunk space. Other sedans have around 16 cubic feet available, so this car has just slightly less space. For your passengers, they'll have plenty of legroom in the back. The car does have a sloping roofline, so taller passengers may want to sit in the front if possible.

It's Safer Than Previous Models
With the 2020 model, you'll get Nissan Maxima reliability you can count on when it comes to safety. In this vehicle, you'll get 2 additional airbags in the front; they're placed at the knees of both the driver and the front passenger. In addition, the 2020 Nissan Maxima received all "good" ratings from the IIHS. This, combined with its many safety features, makes the Maxima a very safe vehicle to be out on the road with.
