The New 2021 Nissan Altima

The new 2021 Nissan Altima is a comfortable, all-wheel-drive midsize sedan with enough seating for five people. It offers excellent gas mileage, roomy seats, and a cushioned ride at an affordable price. If you're in the market for a new vehicle, keep reading to learn more about the latest Altima before scheduling a test drive at Fort Worth Nissan.

Spacious and High-Tech Interior
The Altima can transport up to five people comfortably with two adult-friendly rows of seats. Its Zero Gravity seats are among the most supportive and comfortable in the midsize vehicle class. If you have children, you'll be happy to know that the Altima has two complete sets of LATCH connectors on its rear outboard seats. A tether anchor is available for the middle seat. The connectors are easy to locate and attach, which is paramount for busy parents. The Altima's interior features premium, high-quality materials. Every drive feels luxurious, thanks to the wood-tone trim and chrome matte finishes.

Infotainment, Navigation, and Bluetooth
The user-friendly NissanConnect infotainment system is standard on the Altima. It's easy to find what you're looking for while en route, thanks to nicely arranged, physical controls. Standard features include six speakers, a 7-inch touch screen, voice recognition, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and satellite radio.

You can choose to add an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation, and a nine-speaker Bose audio system. Also available are a push-button start, remote start, proximity keyless entry, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Performance and Gas Mileage
The standard Altima comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 188 horsepower. All-wheel-drive models produce 182 horsepower. If you seek more power, go for the SR trim with a 248-horsepower turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Both engines are paired with continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). While the base engine isn't the most powerful among midsize sedans, it's more than enough for everyday commutes.

When driving the Altima, you'll notice minimal body lean and that it easily handles corners and bumpy roads. The automatic transmission is pleasantly responsive when paired with either engine.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Nissan Altima gets an estimated 28 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway. This is with the standard 2.5-liter engine-impressive for a midsize car. All-wheel-drive versions get 26/36 city/highway, while turbocharged models get 25/34 city/highway.

Safety and Crash Test Results
The 2021 Altima received an overall safety rating of five out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It was awarded four stars in the frontal crash test and five stars in the side crash and rollover tests. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the new Altima the highest rating of "Good" in all of its crashworthiness tests. It also named it a Top Safety Pick+ award winner.

The Altima's standard safety features include pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, a rearview camera, forward automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. Standard models also get driver drowsiness monitoring and automatic high-beam headlights.
If you choose a higher trim level, you'll find available advanced safety features such as:
   • Blind-spot monitoring
   • LED headlights
   • Adaptive cruise control
   • 360-Degree parking camera system
   • ProPilot Assist with adaptive cruise control
ProPilot Assist controls the vehicle's accelerating, steering, and braking in specific conditions.

Trim Levels
You can purchase the 2021 Nissan Altima in five trim levels: S, SV, SR, L, and Platinum. Each model comes standard with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 188 horsepower.
