The 2026 Nissan Murano is a complete departure from the previous generation. It looks different, drives different, and is powered by completely new technology. Naturally, our Fort Worth customers have questions.

At Fort Worth Nissan, we believe in clear, honest answers. Whether you are curious about the new transmission or the massaging seats, here are the top 10 questions we are hearing about the all-new Murano.

Does the 2026 Nissan Murano have a CVT?

No. The 2026 Murano has replaced the Xtronic CVT® with an all-new 9-Speed Automatic Transmission. This provides crisper, more traditional shifts and a more engaging driving feel on Fort Worth highways, addressing the biggest request from previous owners.

What engine is in the 2026 Murano?

The old V6 has been retired. Every 2026 Murano is powered by the 2.0L VC-Turbo™ (Variable Compression Turbo) 4-cylinder engine. It delivers 241 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, offering more torque than the outgoing V6 for better acceleration off the line.

Does the 2026 Murano require premium gas?

No. While the VC-Turbo is a high-performance engine, it is designed to run on Regular Unleaded (87 Octane) fuel. You can use Premium (91+) for slightly enhanced performance in extreme heat or while towing, but it is not required for daily driving in Tarrant County.

What is the towing capacity?

When properly equipped, the 2026 Nissan Murano can tow up to 1,500 lbs. This is sufficient for a small utility trailer or a pair of jet skis for a weekend at Eagle Mountain Lake.

Does the 2026 Murano have wireless Apple CarPlay®?

Yes. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and wireless Android Auto™ are standard on most trims. You can connect your phone instantly without fumbling for a cord, viewing your apps on the stunning 12.3-inch touchscreen.

Which Murano has massaging seats?

The massaging front seats are available on the Platinum trim and select SL packages. These pneumatic seats offer multiple massage modes to reduce fatigue during long commutes.

How big is the cargo space?

The Murano prioritizes passenger comfort but still offers ample utility. You get 32.9 cubic feet of storage behind the rear seats and up to 63.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat.

Does it have Google Built-In?

Yes. SL and Platinum trims feature Google Built-In, meaning Google Maps and Google Assistant are natively integrated into the car’s dashboard. You don’t even need your phone with you to get live traffic updates or search for a destination.

Is the Murano All-Wheel Drive (AWD)?

Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) is standard, but Intelligent All-Wheel Drive is available on all trims. This system monitors wheel slip and instantly transfers power to the rear wheels for traction on wet or gravel roads.
